Obsession : Titanic Ballet Pumps

hello hello

Okay, if you don't know already, I'm completely obsessed with Titanic.
Always have, always will be.
I've watched this movie over a hundred times, no jokes!
And when I say, hundred- I really do mean, beginning of movie to the end. ;)

Remember the scene where Rose says,
"So you think you so tough? Let's see you do this!"
and does that ballet/tip toe stunt?
Well check out these awesome shoes from Alexander McQueen
Major jaw dropping moment for me

Look at the ballet ribbon detailing in the front, just subtle, nothing too bold or cliche.
What a combination, and what symbolism in a pair of shoes!
The soft delicate ballet front to the strong ship metal hinge detailing on the heels.
This pair of amazing pumps are a woman's dream come true, and everything a woman can hope to be; strong through a delicate art form.

in love?
I know I am.

Speaking of that, the awesome Titanic exhibition is definitely worth a visit, I'm not sure where it is in the world at the moment but definitely google it! and if you're lucky, it just might be in a city near you;)
You can catch a glimpse of the Grand Staircase!:)

Oh wait, one more thing. I'm absolutely in love with Carly Rose Sonenclar's version of My heart will go on:) I've embedded it so you can enjoy it too <3 ah. amazing talent! Didn't think I could love this song anymore than I already did!

toodles till later

I love ♡ : Disney & Barneys New York: Electric Holiday

Images with [IlluminatedTammy] watermark were personally screen-shoted and collaged by me, images without the watermark are from an external source :)

hello hello!

I'm back with a video-blog, I actually saw this video the day it was released, I just didn't get the chance to blog about it due to all the packing/traveling madness!
Again, if you know me personally, you'll know that I am obsessed with anything and everything Disney, always have and always will! and being an aspiring fashion designer, you can only imagine my excitement watching this collaboration between Disney and Barneys New York, Electric Holiday!

What could be better?

All my favorite things combined into one! As always, I've print-screened my favorite moments of the video! I would really appreciate if you linked back if you decided to copy any of the frames because it took me quite a lot of time to print screen each and every single frame:) The actual video will be linked at the end of this post, definitely check it out!

Before I begin, I just wanted to touch on the topic about the negative feedback on the "size zero" representation on some of our favorite Disney characters. I've read comments here and there about not liking the "size-zero" transformation on the Disney characters but I think people are reading.. or should I say "watching" this clip a little too literally. For a moment, forget your first impression of the "size-zero" transformation and take a little walk down memory lane to the younger days. Remember dressing up in your mom's outfits and strutting down your imaginary runway? Watching your mom dress in awesome clothing and aspiring to look just like her one day? I know I did! and to me, the entire Minnie Mouse transformation was that for me, that for a moment, she got to live the dream of strutting down a runway being merged into the fashion world through her imagination, now that's magic;)
I say, take it for what it is, and have fun! Take it lightly and don't look for negativities or innuendos in the clip, enjoy the magic that Disney always brings to us but this time just a little more fashionable :)
Without further ado..
Let's begin this Electric Holiday ;)
I love Daisy's little cameo on the AirFrance poster!
Don't we all do this from time to time, stand at the shop window and dream to own that oh-so perfect dress
Minnie is about to bring us on a fashion adventure in Paris through her imagination.

Someone take me to Paris already! >.<
I love the intricate and miniscule details that they illustrated into the overall interior background, it really adds to the mood of the famous decorative Parisian interior design.
♡ Minnie's signature pose! ♡ and fashion photographer, Steven Meisel
I joint the four frames together, I loved it! Especially liked the whole vignette antique-esque effect.
 Mario Sorrenti on the right!
I love how different the style of photography was in this frame, love the color boost in this representation of Minnie by Mario Sorrenti!
We then, move into the streets of Paris..
Starting up clockwise, we've got
Carine Roitfeld, editor in chief of CR Fashion-book,

Anna Dello Russo, editor at Large, Vogue Japan

3 && 4.
 Lady Gaga
I knew it was Bryanboy the minute I caught him at the corner of my eye!
One day, one day, I'll be standing next to BryanBoy in my Minnie Mouse ears and bow;)
We start moving backstage, where everyone is preparing our favorite characters for the runway show! Clockwise
Julien D'ys and Cruella de Vil

Mickey Mouse and Nicolas Ghesquiere, creative director of Balenciaga
Helping Minnie with her Lanvin dress is none other than Alber Elbaz, creative director of Lanvin

aw! backstage! [Far left to right]
Goofy, Cruella, Snow White, Daisy and Minnie !!
Because you know, technical lighting is just too mainstream when it comes to Disney! Cue Tinkerbell!
By the way, did you spot the hidden mickey? ;)
Doesn't matter how old we get, Tinkerbell and her pixie dust will always hold such a magical place in our hearts.
Here comes the "think Cinderella" transformation
Opening the show, we've got
Minnie Mouse
Alber Elbaz
Daisy Duck
Dolce & Gabbana
I never thought I would say this.. I kinda like you now Snow White lol That Nina Ricci outfit looks fab on you
Snow White
Nina Ricci
Peter Copping
Starting Clockwise from the top left image:

Ed Filipowski
, co-president of KCD

Emmanuelle Alt
, editor in chief at Vogue Paris
Franca Sozzani, editor in Chief of Vogue Italia

 Lady Gaga, the mother monster;)

Cathy Horyn, fashion critic of The New York Times
Daphne Guiness
Carine Roitfeld, editor in chief of CR Fashion-book
Naomi Campbell
Cruella de Vil
Rick Owens
and again, I never thought I would say this, but Cruella isn't too scary here at all. lol maybe just a little..>.<
 Proenza Schouler
 Olivier Rousteing
Mickey Mouse
Nicolas Ghesquiere
Clockwise again, starting from the top left,
Linda Evangelista
Captain Hook from Peter Pan!

Jafar from Aladdin
Emmanuelle Alt, editor in chief at Vogue Paris

Carine Roitfeld, editor in chief of CR Fashion-book
Naomi Campbell
Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland
Lady Gaga,
Bridget Foley, executive editor of WWD
The Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland
Linda Evangelista

Love the closing sequence, with Minnie giving us the end of the runway pose;)
Mickey got Minnie the Lanvin dress! yay!!! <3
How cute is Minnie in her new Lanvin dress! :)

How magical is it? I absolutely loved it! You know what's funny? I have NEVER been a fan of Snow White but woah did this little collaboration change my impression of her! Super cute! but I can't lie, Cruella De Vil still freaks me out.
From this video, I can proudly and safely say, I'm both a fashion and Disney lover. I pretty much recognized all the Disney characters without much help at all but I mean.. in all fairness, they were pretty iconic characters!and of course their fashionable outfits and the front row audience were definitely no strangers to me! Recognized BryanBoy in a heart beat

I don't know how many times I've said this, DISNEY MAKE ME A DISNEY CHARACTER ALREADY! That's my ULTIMATE DREAM
Well.. until now.. now I want to see Minnie Mouse in my designs! and I have always dreamed of the day I would sit front row at a runway show next to BryanBoy! or I guess... Captain Hook is cool too;)
I hope this post brought some magic and fun to your day

Tell me what you thought about this video!:)
Leave your thoughts in the comment section below

Have a magical Christmas guys :)

oh and of course, as promised! here is the link of the actual video!:)

A tribute to Melbourne

hello hello

I don't usually write blog post that are too personal but I thought, I owe it to these amazing people, to write a final tribute post to commemorate my journey in Melbourne.
I use to write thank you notes at the end of each school year, and they've usually been rather short, and sweet but this time... it's going to be pretty long because this will be my final thank you note; ah.. I'm already beginning to tear up as I write this.

I didn't think I would feel all these mix emotions or even miss this place because up until a month ago, I was ready to say goodbye to this place for a while but boy... was I wrong.  I love you guys so much, and I'm sorry I probably can't address every single person but one thing's for sure, you have all touched my life and inspired me, more than you'll ever know. I'm incredibly grateful and honored to have had you guys as part of my journey in Melbourne. Four years ago, I came into this school not knowing a thing, I remember freaking out when I was faced with the machines and the deadly overlockers. I was fresh out of high school, missing home and friendless. You guys have been so incredibly welcoming, and have made moving here so much easier.

I want to begin with a countless list of thank you(s) because I would have to write a book about you guys if I wrote about every single one of you. <3
Angel, Listi, Simona, Natasha, Ines, Kara, Wei, Tanya, Sarah, Teegan, Emily, Kate, Duo, Henry, Jason, Ty, Hong, Bernadette, Ashlea, Alice, Lois, Elinor, Fozia, Jiwon,  Adi, Sunny, Danielle, Perle, Nixi, Mia, Audrey, Georgia, Lauren S., Amanda, Tan, Aileen, Vlad, Will, Cindy, Noom, Alex, Jack, Dara,Gracia, Lynette, Erica, Alice R, Lauren, Amber, Hannah, Karla and everyone else that I didn't get to note down! <3

This next part of this post is a letter addressed to 15 individuals who have made such an impact on my life, this is my thank you note, and I guess.. a goodbye note as I'm leaving Melbourne for good in less than 48 hours. I've decided to not mention names in the next part, I thought it would make it more special if the 15 people I chose to dedicate this post to, could identify themselves without me disclosing their identity.
  1. You have been such a dear friend to me. I'm really glad I got a chance to meet you and attend concerts with you! We always have so much fun eating and karaoke-ing. Hopefully, the next time we get to karaoke, we'll finally learn our duet lines. lol. stay awesome:)<3 We'll have many more adventures.

  2. You are incredibly talented and such an amazing friend. I really hope that you know how awesome you are. I'm glad we got to know each other a little better this year. I know it can feel like you're all alone in it sometimes, that no one is really looking out for you or want the best for you but I want to tell you that, I think you're pretty darn amazing and I know the future holds big things for you:)

  3. Thank you for being such a loyal friend even though I've pushed you away and given you countless reasons to not come back. You have been such an inspiration to me and I'm so thankful for our friendship.

  4. Having you in Melbourne with me for college made the transition so much easier. I've been privileged enough to see you grow into a more mature woman. Our friendship had also been put through a series of test through the years but we've shown the world that it'll always be us against the world.:) I'm glad that our friendship has triumph all the bad and come out even stronger than ever.

  5. I went through perhaps the biggest breakdown in my life this year and you have been there through it all. You have given me strength and so much faith that it wasn't the end and for that, I'm eternally grateful. Indeed, everything happens for a reason. I love you, oh and skype rocks. haha;)

  6. We use to be incredibly close friends but I guess with with new people, comes new challenges. We can't deny the fact that we've floated apart more than ever in the past few years. From close friends that laughed about anything and everything, we quickly turned into strangers with awkward exchanges. We might not ever be that close again but I won't forget the good times we shared.

  7. I have to give you the biggest thank you because if it wasn't for you, I would have never gotten this far. You've inspired me in ways I couldn't even begin to describe. I'm sure you wouldn't even guess this little note is addressed to you because you're the most humble, sincere person and I absolutely love that about you.

  8. I met you at a really low point in my life, and I guess the stress that I was going through heightened all my insecurities. Although I wouldn't say we're that close anymore, I would like to say I'm sorry because I know how much I pushed you away and you tried all you could to remain close despite it all.<3

  9. I was incredibly honored that I had the privilege of attending your wedding this year. I wish you the best. :) cheers to pancakes and seven eleven! Our friendship is one that I hold so close to my heart.

  10. Our friendship has been put through a roller coaster of ups and downs. Sometimes, I'm left wondering how such an amazing friendship of 3 years can go so wrong in just a few months. I remember when I first met you, I knew almost immediately we would get along, and of course the minute I heard your ring tone, it was a clear sign that we were in sync:) I'm so punny. Our light spirited self quickly faded as our friendship turned into a mess. I guess what I'm trying to say is, this year or so, hasn't been easy on us but the most amazing thing is, we have never given up on this friendship, what other people might consider as fake, or denial, I see as enduring. I love you dear friend, and even though I might seem aloof, I want you to know, I'll always be there for you. It'll take time for us to return to the old days but I have full faith that we'll get there:) Melbourne wouldn't have been the same without you and nothing could ever replace the good times we had. Always lost and never found in our own world remember? ;)

  11. The first quarter of this year, has definitely been a whirlwind of detrimental events for us. I'm incredibly grateful to have had you by my side throughout this entire fiasco. Thank you for always being there for me and staying positive, I hope I've been there for you too. I know because you're a stressball, you're probably freaking out about the next chapter but stress not! because you're one of the most dedicated people I've ever known and I'm so proud of you for keeping your head high through everything.

  12. Always, us against the world. enough said;)

  13. You have been such a supportive friend. Even though we don't meet much, I know I can always count on you. Thank you for always being there for me<3 You are so incredibly lovely and it has been such an honor working with you.

  14. I love you girls! you guys have been incredibly inspiring, and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for you:)

  15. I love you! you're one of my closest friends in Melbourne, thank you for your constant support and I await for the day that you finally visit me in Singapore-> when I'm there obviously lol. I'm glad you've found direction in what you want to do next, I'm really happy for you!

As cliche as it sounds,
To everyone I mentioned above and didn't get to mention, thank you, thank you, thank you and I really do mean every word.
Thank you for enduring me at my worst, the genuine laughter we shared,  the moments that are irreplaceable:)

So heres
to getting to Uni at 7am to ensure a sewing machine and table space;)
to brunching at 2pm and pretending it's 11am.
to the countless shots we've downed.
to skyping to the a.m.
to begging random teachers to stay till 10pm.
to seven eleven runs.
to random outbreaks into songs and dances.
to trusting my baking skills even though you know that I can't bake muffins to save my life.
to never getting mad at me for borrowing, your chalk, measuring tape, foots, you know the drill:)
to making every rainy day on level 10 seem brighter than it actually is.
to praying and hiding from the security guards.
to freaking out because the printers on level 7 seems to never work when we need it to.
to running out of drafting paper.
to most importantly, just always being yourself, because that's more than enough.

There are not enough words to express my gratitude and love for you guys. You are all so dear to my heart and I'll never let go of you guys. Can't believe my chapter in Melbourne is all about to end.

Thank you again for the wonderful memories I'll always cherish
You guys have really made all the difference to my days. I'm so incredibly honored to have had the chance to meet all of you guys, god knows, I didn't do anything to deserve any of you<3
I won't say goodbye because I know we'll always keep in touch but I will leave you with this,
toodles till later

It has been quite the journey ;)
I'll always be that girl that lives above the rock climbing place<3

p.s. Don't worry about being narcissistic haha, if you think the note is addressed to you.. it most probably is;) but I'll never tell hehe.

Photoblog : Make My Day

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Repost from my old blog: actual ink here

Hello hello

Today is my graduation day! It's 12.12.12!
I've been thinking long and hard about what blog post would be appropriate for this special day, and finally! I remembered one of my favorite notebooks of 2012.
2012 has been filled with adventures, sorrows occasionally but I would be lying if I said it was all bad:) So today, let's celebrate the little things in life that make our day.

And now
We shall begin the post:)

This is where the old post begins!

I recently purchased this notebook and what made me instantly fall in love with it were the three simple words on the front cover, [Make My Day]

The reason why I really wanted to do this photoblog was because it's one of my best friends' 21st birthday! and one of the things she said repeatedly other than well.. THANK YOU GUYS! was, thank you for making my day.:)
I put together all the photography from my notebook and did my own [Make My Day] photo, so.. without further ado... I want to say again. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KARA! I hope you had a great great great night!:)
Here we go!
Colorful candy makes my day.

The fleeting moments of light that can only be captured on film makes my day.

Flowers make my day:)

Online shopping makes my day.

As I see my ideas formulate into a 3D form through typing on a keyboard, it makes my day.

Collaging makes my day

Liquid art makes my day

My stationary makes my day

French fries make my day!

Pretty ribbons make my day

Food art makes my day, and well makes the meals even tastier!

Legos bring back old memories, it always makes my day when I take a walk down memory lane.

Here is my version of a [Make My Day]
Since, I'm a fashion student, thought it might be appropriate to do mine is all scraps and ropes of what I have around the house:)
Sewing, threads, ribbons and all things fashion, make my day.

As you've noticed, some of the most simple moments in life like playing legos with your little brother, twirling ribbons, typing on a keyboard are usually the ones that make your day when it is played on a larger scale. These are remarkable moments that we forget to remember because we're too caught up in the fireworks. They may be "boring," recurring moments but remember, these are the very same moments that define us. So for a moment, in your busy schedule, I ask you to pause what you're doing, savour the moment and make yourself a [Make My Day] photo for me. It can be absolutely anything you want, and write a best fitting caption for it and I'll feature my favorite picture in the next post.
I hope you have fun with this:)
I've been so inspired by this photoblog, and I hope it has inspired you just as much! This will be a continuing blog because I definitely want to make more of these [Make my day] photos but it probably won't be a full post about it, just a little ending photo in whatever post I write. I'm quite excited! It's going to be lots of fun!

If you've got some time, I would really like to see what you guys come up with:)

So tell me, what are some of your [Make My Day] items, moments?
Share it with me in the comment section below:)

Dream big my love
toodles till later
