A tribute to Steve Jobs

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.” -Steve Jobs-

Steve Jobs

This month has been extremely busy but I wanted to take this opportunity to write a tribute letter to Steve Jobs for being such an inspiration for as long as I can remember.
I remember being in 6th grade and always listening to the older kids on my bus talking about this magic music box called the IPod.
and mind you, I still had a discman!
Little did I know, this magic music box and everything it comes from would come to revolutionize the world for the next 10 years.
This was clearly another day that took a part of something away from many people I know.
Twitter, and facebook feed started flooding with messages to Steve Jobs, and their most sincere condolences to Jobs' family.
What touched me the most was these millions of tweets came from strangers, me included who unfortunately never had the chance to meet Mr Steve Jobs personally.

As I'm now typing this blog post on my macbook pro, it makes me ponder how much impact these apple products actually have on our lives
I wake up in the morning,
play a game or two of doodle jump on my Ipad,
pull out my 100% charged Ipod nano, hop into the shower and play my shower playlist,
get my friends to take silly photos with me on photobooth for hours
and of course, the what time is it question always forces one to check out their iphone.
It's pretty extraordinary if you think about how the apple products have somehow worked their way into your daily routine.

What he's done in a lifetime, is what many aspire to achieve but what is most extraordinary, is that he has been able to achieve all that he could because he believed.
Steve Jobs Stanford commencement speech in 2005, is definitely a heartfelt and inspiring speech that many still replay over and over again. If you haven't seen it, youtube it!
I think the greatest message is to find what you truly want to do, and not settle. Don't be too competitive, don't be greedy. Do and love it for the right reasons.
And that if you believe that you can change the world, you can. You just have to genuinely want it enough and let no one convince you otherwise.
Think Different, like Apple has,
and everything Steve Jobs stands for

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. While some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
